FLEXI Continues Living Lab Engagement with FH Kufstein Bachelor Students at GEC Europe
Following the successful Living Lab workshop held earlier this year, FLEXI continued its engagement with students from the University of Applied Sciences Kufstein through a second workshop at the Green Energy Center Europe in Innsbruck on 27 April 2026. This follow-up visit welcomed Bachelor students from the Energy and Sustainability Management programme and further strengthened the connection between academic education, applied research and innovation in the clean energy transition. While the first workshop introduced MSc students to the Living Lab environment and the role of FLEXI, REINFORCE and H2CoVE, the second workshop expanded this learning format to Bachelor students, supporting earlier-stage engagement with real-world energy system applications. FLEXI Results Presented During Habilitation Plan Seminar at the University of Innsbruck
On 24 April 2026, Prof. Sashko Ristov presented his habilitation plan at the Department of Computer Science, University of Innsbruck. The presentation took place as part of the Department’s Lunchtime Seminar which is intended as a forum for internal presentations of recently completed and ongoing research. During the seminar, Prof. Ristov also disseminated recent results from the FLEXI project, with a key focus on FLORCA, a lightweight serverless runtime for the dynamic coordination of distributed applications. This work was recently accepted at 27th ACM International Middleware Conference, taking place from 14th to 18th December 2026 in Spain, and explores the use of negotiation scenarios in the context of energy systems. FLEXI Presentation in the Meeting with CETPartnership and the Green Powered Future Mission
On 15 April 2026, FLEXI was presented at an online meeting organised by the CET Partnership and the Green Powered Future Mission (GPFM), which brought together projects from the CM2024-02 and CM2023-02 calls. The meeting gave participating projects the chance to present their objectives, approaches and anticipated contributions to the clean energy transition. In his presentation, Prof. Sashko Ristov highlighted FLEXI’s role in supporting more flexible, coordinated and digitalised energy systems, and opened the floor for knowledge exchange with other CET Partnership and GPFM-linked initiatives. FLEXI Project Showcased at High-Level Energy Cooperation Event in Skopje, Macedonia
FLEXI was presented by project coordinator Prof. Dr. Sashko Ristov at the event “Energy that Connects: Macedonia – Austria, Partnership for the Future”, held on 31 March 2026 at the Austrian Library at Ss. Cyril and Methodius University (UKIM) in Skopje, Macedonia. The event organized by the Ministry of Energy, Mining and Natural Resources gathered a distinguished audience of academia, including professors and researchers from electrical and mechanical engineering disciplines, alongside representatives from government, industry, and system operators. FLEXI Joins REINFORCE Workshop for CETPartnership Clustering Exchange in a Living Lab Setting
FLEXI joined the REINFORCE workshop at the Green Energy Center Europe on 29 and 30 January 2026 for a clustering exchange that reflected the Clean Energy Transition Partnership’s (CETPartnership) clear ambition to strengthen collaboration between projects funded under its joint calls. Clustering is a structured approach within the CETPartnership that aims to reduce fragmentation in clean energy research and innovation. This approach encourages projects to share knowledge, create synergies and enhance the uptake and exploitation of results through the Knowledge Community and the Impact Network. In this context, the exchange between FLEXI and REINFORCE was a good example of CETPartnership clustering in practice. FLEXI & REINFORCE meet H2CoVE: Living Lab Workshop at GEC Europe
Education, Research and Innovation Meet in the Living Lab On 13 January 2026, the Green Energy Center Europe hosted a Living Lab workshop for 25 MSc students in Energy and Sustainability Management from the University of Applied Sciences Kufstein. The event created a valuable link between education, research and innovation by bringing together activities from the REINFORCE and FLEXI projects, both funded by the Clean Energy Transition Partnership and co-funded by the European Commission (GA No. 101069750). The workshop also provided the framework for the second regional pilot course within the Hydrogen Centres of Vocational Excellence in Tyrol, delivered by FEN Research GmbH. FLEXI Kicks Off in Austria: Three Days of Collaboration and Technical Alignment
In mid-December, FLEXI officially launched with its kick-off meeting and first general assembly in Austria, hosted by the University of Innsbruck. During the three-day event (17–19 December 2025), project partners, use case leaders and advisory board members came together to align on the project vision, confirm working methods and establish the groundwork for the initial implementation steps.
